Dearest Xiao-Yu and Jeff,

How are you doing?

We imagine it's very close to Xiao-Yu's expectancy. Please take extra care and we would love to see a photo of Xiao-Yu with her full maternity glory. We actually received a photo of Iluh a couple of weeks ago and she has quite a formidable mother looking overall speaking. Strong, we would say. Maybe because it's her second child.

So sorry we were not able to visit your mom and sister. The last few days in Paris we were running around trying to catch up on our schedule. Our anticipated of going to Marie Antoinetteˇ¦s dairy and shell room at Rambouillant became a fiasco, ending with Steven banging on the door of the dairy. Even after all our calls and planning they decided not to open that day. We were redeemed the following day, however, when we got a private tour of the dukeˇ¦s dˇ¦Aumonts apartments at Chantilly including both the monkey boudoirs, frescoed all about with singerie chinoiserie grotesques.

We hit several SPAˇ¦s including a night at the grand art deco (succession) hotel Gellert. We were severely chided for making photos in the menˇ¦s thermal but had to show you the most beautiful bathroom in the world. We also went to three opera and a symphonic concert at the Liszt academy which we first knew of from a design magazine when in London. Couldnˇ¦t trace it down until we just came upon it while walking.

We had to go to Bratislava to stay overnight on March 31st because Sky Europe altered our flight to early in the morning on April 1st to Edinburgh without telling us until two days prior to departure. The good things were that we got to visit another country Slovenia and  stay in a lovely boutique hotel in Bratislava.

In Edinburgh, we walked to one of Scotlandˇ¦s best preserved castles on Sunday where Mary Queen of Scots conspired to murder her husband. To our delight, an Easter wedding was taking place with all the boys in full kilt, bagpipes etc. We hit Hollyrood House, one of the living palaces for the current queen, and Stirling castle for the lovely Easter Renaissance fair. The infamous weather in Scotland? We deemed ourselves lucky because it was very friendly to us until the last few days before we departed to Copenhagen.

A series of improvement are made possible to commence thanks for all the photos and videos you took for Matahari. We believe you'll be so delighted to know that the kitchen and the laundry room have all been cleaned and well organized. The bamboo baskets in the ceiling at the front desk and the terrace of the Cinnabar Tearoom have all been changed anew. We have a new house-sitter, Leila, from Hawaii, who's helping us monitor daily the service quality and staff performance. She's also working with our contractor fixing up broken wood decoration in the Primitive Room, changing faucets, etc. After revamping roof and injecting special medicine for bamboo structure, we have not seen any black dust from the ceiling anymore so far. A blue fountain has been put in at the small pond area by the Jacuzzi. Recent guests have all checked out with satisfaction and left wonderful comments of Matahari.

On the other hand, we have seen devastating feedbacks on Trip Advisor, which, in our respect, will cause us huge loss of prospect for it's the most visible traveler's online forum/website. While trying to appease those guests who had negative experience staying in Matahari and impugn our humble abode and to return their deposits, we wonder if you both can help us post some good comments and photos you have for Matahari. Below is the link.

We believe everything will be brought back to the standard and quality when we were there, now that we have a Hawaiian girl assisting us in Matahari on long term basis. You both are more than welcome to come and stay in Matahari whenever you are ready to return to Bali.

Love,

Sean and Steven

We are in Copenhagen now until May 11th. We'll write more after our trip unfolds again.
